Carl's Jr/Green Burrito
Mon-Sat:6am - 11pm, Sun:7am - 10pm
My grandson and I decided to go to Carl's Jr after he got out of preschool... Normally on Weds I will pick him up from school and take him out and then take him to Karate lessons... This week was no different... Except he wanted to go to Carl's Jr since they are fast... That was not the case at all...
As soon as we walked in, I was thinking it would be pretty fast since there was only one other family there and they were already eating... NOPE! I was wrong... They were slower than I expected... There was 3-4 employees there... One was sweeping and not sure what the others were or weren't doing... We ordered a kids meal for him... And I ordered a basic bacon cheeseburger... Nothing fancy... I also had a Diet Coke... They do have other options for fountain drinks if you aren't a Coke drinker like me...
Eventually we got our food with about 5 minutes to spare... My grandson gets out of school at 3:15 and we had arrived a few minutes after that... We had to leave around 10 till 4 to get him to karate lessons... That will tell you how long it took to get our order... I was a bit ticked by this time... In my opinion cold fries are nasty and inedible... And that's how I would have taken pictures of the food, but it took so long and we had to rush... My grandson got to take 2 bites out of his food and that was about it...
I do want to give credit to the one off of I15 and and the mall area... They have much faster service and I have never had a problem with that location...
I did try to the Green Burrito and I don't see what the big deal is about them... If I want a good burrito or one somewhat good and have little time, I will go to Taco Time on St. George Blvd or Taco Bell on Sunset... I'm not much for fast food and this is where JJ wanted to go... Let's say that this GG will over ride that option next time, lol...
I would have to give this a thumbs down review... Unless something changes drastically, this is a location I wouldn't go to again... Just my opinion...

Buca di Beppo is best described as a family-style Italian restaurant... If you don't know what that means, it is simple... When you sit down at your dinner table at home and your mom or whoever prepares your food, they place it on the table and you pass the plates around and enjoy each others company... This is what you get Buca di Beppo's... It's like having a family dinner in a restaurant without the cleanup... OH YEAH...
The first thing I noticed was the decor... Since moving to St. George, I don't think I have seen a place like this...At first when we looked at the menu we were thinking it was a bit pricey... That was until our waiter explained to us that it is Family-Style dining...I happen to like this form of going out to dinner...If I was to open a restaurant, family dining is the kind I would go for...
The atmosphere was awesome and fun... You felt like you were in an Italian Restaurant and Mamma was in the kitchen cooking... A plus for me too is when you walk into a restuarant whether it is Mexican, American or Italian, you would want to hear the music from that country... Atleast I do... I would say they hit a home run with bringing Italy to St. George, Utah...
My husband and I ordered the Chicken Parmasean with a side a garlic mash potatoes... The chicken was boneless chicken breast that was lightly breaded and fried... So many times many places over bread and you don't get the full flavor of the meat... This was not the case...We also tried the Penne San Remo... Now this is my kind of pasta... It has artichoke hearts, tender chicken breast, peas, sun-dried tomatoes and nestled together in a spicy rosa sauce...There was so much food, we had to take it home and then have some tomorrow...
They have a very large selection of pastas, pizza, breads and the list goes on... You can check out their online menu... It will give you a better idea... They do dine in, carry out, parties, catering and not sure what else...

They also have this room called the Popes Room... It is way cool... Really the whole place is interesting... If people weren't eating, I would have taken alot of pictures and looked around more...
As we were being seated, they brought out warm bread and a major plus for me is that they serve Pepsi products... Oh yeah... This is my kind of place...I was very surprised to hear that they have only been open a couple of days... The waiters, hostesses and manager had it down... They were all great and personable... One of the main things I notice when I go to a restaurant is how the manager interacts with his staff and the customers... Only a handful of managers that I have seen will go out and make sure everything is OK and talk to the guests... Brendon S. was the manager I talked to as he was making his rounds... I appreciate when a manager can take the time to find out how his restaurant is doing and interacting with everyone... That is a good manager...

Overall Experience: Magnifico... I will for sure be going back there... Next time I think I will have to try their desserts... They look so yummy...
For those who have been in St. George for awhile, Bucas is where the old Ruby Tuesdays was at... It is outside the Red Cliffs Mall along Redcliffs Drive...

I wasn't sure what was on the menu since I didn't check out the menu before heading over there... Friends of mine wanted us to do a review and this was the perfect opportunity to do that...![]() |
| Napa Valley Chicken Panini |
My brother in law ordered a Club Nouveau Wrap... That was filled with turkey breast, jasmine rice, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, parmesan, pesto-mayo and ceasar dressing... I asked him how he liked his choice and he said it was good... He did seem to be pleased with his selection... His wrap also came with the tri-colored corn chips...
They offer Coke products in addition to teas, coffee, and bottled drinks... I'm not a fan of Coke, but thankfully they have other things to drink :) They have a pretty good size selection of beverages... They also offer smoothies...
There is many great offerings on their menu... The headings on their menu selections include;
- Breakfast Items
- Kids Menu
- Wraps. Natu-Wraps
- Grilled Hot Wraps
- Sandwiches
- Create Your Own- Half Sandwhich, Soups and Salads...
- Panini's
- Flatbread Pizza's
- Salads
- Soups
- Desserts
- Low Carb Offerings
- Smoothies
They also have free Wi-Fi... It is very clean and it has a positive and relaxing place to go to... They do offer coupons through mailing and you may come across one in other places... I'm not sure of where the coupons are all located at... If the owners come over and read the review, maybe they can let us know... They also offer catering, dine in and carry out...
I must say that the cheesecake they have there looked awesome... That is something I will have to try the next time I go there...
The only negative is I had a hard time trying to get into Camille's Sidewalk Cafe and it wasn't their fault... We came in off of St. George Blvd heading towards the freeway... And we had to make a left at the light and go through another parking lot... Then we had to go down a steep decline that is pretty sharp... If you are coming down St. George Blvd heading towards Bluff Street, it is really easy... I'm really bad at knowing my North, East, South and West... If you have questions, I would call Camille's, they could give you better directions :)
Overall Experience: This is a place where I would take a friend for a nice relaxing lunch... I will for sure be going back to try out some of the other menu items... I would give it a thumbs up... I liked that the item I ordered was light and it was the perfect size... I wasn't fond of the salsa... But that is only because it is a sweeter salsa and I like something with a bite to it... My brother in law really liked it...The service was fast and friendly... The have inside seating which is where we sat... It is too hot around here to sit outside right now in the middle of the day... But if it was in the evening or morning, I could see us sitting outside on the patio... It's a very nice place that isn't overly priced...

It has been a very long time since I was last at the Outback Steakhouse in St. George, Utah... Usually when I go past the Zion Factory Outlets, it's too late for me to turn into the Outback... I have never had bad service, it was mostly due to timing...
I was very pleased with the service we received today... When we first arrived we were immediately seated and less than a minute Jessica was there with the warm bread and butter... She then took our orders for drinks... The one thing I don't like, but many will is that they serve Coke instead of Pepsi... It is just a personal preference of mine... But they do offer other selections in case you don't like Coke... I decided on the Ice Tea... Jessica was great, I never had a empty glass...

The manager Ramee came over to our table to make sure everything was good... One thing that impresses me is when the manager of an establishment will take the time to come out to talk to the customer... Too bad other restaurants don't do this... It's nice to know that they care about the customer and that they are having a good experience... Even the server Stacy (Gentleman) was great... He was professional and made sure everything was good...
On a side note: Outback Steakhouse has #1 Zagat Rated Best Steak... Below is information taken from their website and restaurants strive for this rating...

Taco Bell, Santa Clara Utah
1418 West Sunset Boulevard St. George, UT 84770July, 17th, 2012 - Update: Today I ventured back to the Taco Bell on Sunset Blvd in St. George... I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was... The service was good and there is a new General Manager... She has been there for three weeks now... Her name is Latasha... The crew member Karli that waited on me was very pleasant and friendly... The manager was on her toes and seemed to really care about what the customers thought... A much better energy at Taco Bell Sunset...
May, 28th, 2012- Today, my husband and I revisited Taco Bell on Sunset Blvd in St. George Utah... This wasn't a very good experience at all... The tables were dirty, and employees were standing around in the back chatting to each other instead of cleaning the lobby between customers... After a short time more customers came in that had larger families and they had no clean tables to sit at...

| Actual Volcano Taco- Should Look Like This |
Taco Bell is one of those places that I don't go too very often... One of the main reasons I do go there is because it is my husbands favorite place... But overall the food quality is not good... I was watching The Biggest Loser when Jillian was still on there... She was eating what the contestants were eating or would eat in a sitting... Taco Bell was on the menu for one of the ladies and Jillian had to eat whatever was on the plate... I have to say that compared to real food, it looked pretty nasty... My husband would disagree with me on this one... He could live on Taco Bell, or should I say he could die from all the salt and preservatives that is put in the food... He ordered the Enchirto with no onions and a Steak Quesadilla...
Either way, my visit to this Taco Bell was not what I was hoping for and my order was messed up again... Maybe it is a good thing that my order was messed up because it isn't a place I would return to unless my husband was throwing a temper tantrum that he wants to eat this unhealthy food... There are ways to make it healthier, but I have a feeling it would confuse them if you tried to explain it to them... It sounds as if I'm bashing this location and I guess in some ways I am... Not all Taco Bells is this way and I have to say that the GM when I talked to him on the phone was helpful... He was off work today or I would have talked to him about this... Laziness and cleanliness says alot to me when it comes to the pride of a restaurant and the quality of food they are putting out... It may be a long time till I go here and only due to the prompting of my husband who doesn't care what he eats...

Black Bear Dinner- St. George Utah
Black Bear Diner
1245 South Main StreetSt George, UT 84770
435-656-2327
435-656-2327
Hours : M- Sun 6am-10pm
When The Black Bear Diner moved into St. George, I have to say that it was intriguing... Little by little the bears were coming out and I was looking forward to trying this place... I ate at a Black Bear Diner in AZ and loved it then and I have to say that I love it just as much now... This is a family style diner that focuses on home cooked meals...
When you walk into the Black Bear you will see cute black bears all around you... They make me want to give them a big bear hug... It's a very woodsy type of decor at the Black Bear Dinner...
I have gone to the Black Bear a number of times and have never had any problems with my food... One of the few places that I never had to send back my eggs because they were under cooked... One of the really nice things is that they serve Pepsi products... This is a thumbs up for me...
Today I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie... The crust was flaky and it was pipping hot... The fresh grilled vegetables were perfect... They weren't soggy or mushy... The quantity of food is over the top... You can easily take some home for a second meal... If you notice that you are beginning to get full and you are thinking about dessert... I would venture into the great unknown and try the blackberry cobbler ala mode... OH MY GOODNESS! It has the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness... This is my favorite dessert at the Black Bear Dinner... I would ask the waitress/waiter for a to go container for the main course and try the cobblers... It will be worth the price and you won't be disappointed... I could hear people around me raving about the bear claws and the other dishes they ordered...
The others that were with me decided on the Chicken Fried Steak and the Bacon Cheeseburger... They thoroughly enjoyed their choices and had enough to take home with them...
I should note that when I order breakfast at the Black Bear Diner, you have to try the hash browns and home fries... They are to die for... I always order a side of country gravy since I like that with my potatoes... But they stand alone in taste... One of my favorite dishes is their breakfast and that is the Chorizo Scramble... Chorizo is a Mexican sausage and is a bit spicy... But OHHHHHH so delicious...
Our waiter was fast and functional... We never had to wait for a refill and the manager was great... One of the first things I notice when I go into a restaurant is see how the interaction is with customers and owners if they are there... The manager of the Black Bear Diner was greeting customers and made himself available to those around him... He had no problem jumping in and helping out where needed... At times that would be if the floors needed swept or checks being rung up... This is the kind of place that would seem to have a good staff of employees who has a manager that respects them...

You will be very happy with the Black Bear Diner... Do much so that your plate will look like our plate when you leave... Check out the photo below...

Sunny's Pizza- Veyo Utah
12 North Main, Veyo, UT 84782

Open until 9:00pm
Mon - Sat: 9:00am - 9:00pm
Sun: 9:00 - 1:00pm
This is the second food review I have done for Sunny's Pizza... They have evolved into more than an ordinary pizza joint... Even though there wasn't anything ordinary about them before...
My husband and I went over for dinner and I ordered the mini mushrooms, black olive and sausage pizza. I was expecting it to be like the personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut... OH not even close...
The pizza was about 8 slices of oooey gooey goodness... It was enough for two people easily... And what is nice is that it was only 5 bucks... The crust is hand tossed and the ingredients are fresh... What was nice about the pizza is that it wasn't dripping with oil and the crust was crunchy... It was perfectly done!
My husband had the Chicken Alfredo... We were expecting it to be a decent sized plate of pasta... OH not even close again... It was enough to feed a couple people too... My husband loved it... It was perfectly browned to perfection and the cheese was perfect also... They didn't skimp on the ingredients... My husband had to take his to go and he had enough left over for another meal. If you decide to order the Hamburger, Fries and Drink special, you will notice that the fries aren't your typical fries either... This will be an item I will try the next time I go there...
They serve breakfast as well... So we had to give that a whirl... The food is all freshly made and the biscuits and gravy were excellent... My husband is not a big fan of hash-browns... But what he said was that their hashbrowns tasted like what I make... When I make hash-browns, I shred them into the pan... I never use frozen potatoes... He enjoyed his breakfast...
Let me warn you though... If you are expecting your food out in a few minutes, you might as well go to McDonalds... This place is run by couple guys who take pride in serving fresh food and they don't do it at a speedy pace... They want it done right and they want you to be happy with your food... You pay for what you get and what you get here is good homemade food... They also deliver to the area around Veyo... They are the only place I know of that does this... Oh and BTW... They serve Pepsi products... A major plus in my book...
Overall Experience: This is one of the places that you have to drive a ways to get too, but it's worth the drive... When you walk into the place it isn't anything fancy... It is the kind of place you would expect to find in a small town... What set's them apart is this place is in a small town, but they offer big city taste...You won't go wrong when going to Sunny's Pizza... You will not go away hungry...

Lin's Marketplace - Bringing Families Together
We did a food review at the request of some of our readers.... Lin's Marketplace located at 1930 West Sunset Blvd was awesome when it came to helping us put together a great meal at a great price. This is what one of our reviewers had to say about the Cheesy Tortellini Dish:
Importance of Spending time together as a family:
![]() |
| Family Dinner from 1950's |
Bonding: A typical scene from the Fifties. A family sits down to a meal and, in the absence of TVs and mobiles, talks through family issues with each other Psychologist Dr Pat Spungin, a parenting expert, said a family should aim to spend at least 20 minutes at the table to help foster meaningful conversations.
She said there were three phases to a meal, all equally important. In the first, communication is mostly practical as the cooking is finished and everyone sits down. Then comes settling in, where the family members exchange small talk.
She said there were three phases to a meal, all equally important. In the first, communication is mostly practical as the cooking is finished and everyone sits down. Then comes settling in, where the family members exchange small talk.
The final phase is "sweet talk", which Dr Spungin says is crucial to building relationships.Families need to spend significant time together to enjoy in-depth conversations and share their experiences, stories and worries.
Reviewer One Feedback:
The aroma when I walked into the house hit me strong. The meal had been cooking all day long. When I arrived home there were only a few items left that needed to be added in. It was simple to complete for my busy schedule. My husband, not normally a pasta lover, loved the taste and wanted more he even wants for me to make the meal again. My three year old who normally does not want seconds and doesn't usually eat all of his food had all of the food polished off and requested a second plate. The meal overall was delicious, easy and something that I would definitely make again and soon.
Reviewer Two Feedback:
Our family loved this dish and the idea that everything is in one bag. I never tried the Western Family brand and it was just as good if not better then some of the name brand items. Loved the value and flavors. I am hooked on this deal.
Every Monday they offer a special where you can pick up all the ingredients at a discounted price. You are given the recipe and what it takes to cook it up right. They have made it that simple. This is this Monday's dinner...
Lin's Marketplace is one of those stores that is above the rest. Not only are you treated like family, the store is clean and organized. When they say Only the Best, they go by that... Some of the great things about Lin's is that they offer custom made sandwiches in the Service Deli... All the baked goods are made on the spot, not shipped in and frozen. Their store brand is Western Family and they stand behind that brand... Something else that may be of interest to others... Over by the pharmacy they have a section of healthy food options and they have a huge offering of Gluten Free foods...
When it comes to customer service they exceed in that area... The management team of Lin's Marketplace makes it a point to be honest and treat people with respect... If you have a problem, you can talk to any of the management team and they will help you out...
- Produce FREEbee's! Saturday Only from 7:00am to 11:00am Purchase $15.00 of produce & receive Plenty of fresh produce. Plenty of choices & Plenty of FREE items!
- Kids Club: If you have children under the age of 13 you can sign them up for the free birthday club. They will receive free magazines and other fun stuff... Every third Saturday they offer fun activities in the store... I'm not sure what time they have Kid's Club, but the leader of it is Sherri...
- Non Profits: Lin's Marketplace offers something that many of the other stores don't. If you are a non-profit you can talk to the store and they will allow you to get the word out about what you do, fundraiser and raise awareness from the front porch...
- Pharmacy: You can trust their professional pharmacy team to provide you with the correct prescription at the right price.
- Specialty Orders: Lin's carries thousands of items to meet your needs. However, if you have a favorite product that they don't have on hand, you can typically find it in their special order section. Click the link below to try Lin's online special order service
- Online Shopping List: One little perk I like is that they offer on their website the ability to make up your shopping list... You can click on the items from the flyer, add it to your list and you can add items that aren't in the ads... I love this feature... Then I can print it up and I have what I need... When I went in I ordered the Coconut Cream Pie... There is a huge variety, but since I was the one picking out, I got my favorite... You can't go wrong when you go into Veyo Pies... Never have I had bad service or a yucky pie, donuts or coffee... One nice perk too is that if you don't want to buy a whole pie, you can get your favorite by the slice...
My piece of coconut cream pie was the perfect balance of sweetness and cream... You can tell that they make their own crusts... They are perfectly flaky and not mushy... I have gotten pies where the bottoms are all nasty and mushy and that is just gross...
I may even venture into Veyo Pies during Christmas and try one of their homemade mince meat pies... I can't stand mince meat... But after hearing theirs is homemade and not from the jar I may give one slice a try...
I brought a Mountain Berry to my friend since she and her husband will drive to Veyo just for the pies at Veyo Pies... I asked her how her pie was and she seemed very pleased... I shared a couple pieces of my coconut cream with her as well... My husband was wondering where his pie was at... He was on the road, so guess his piece is gone... Good thing Veyo pies is just down the street from my house... Makes it really nice...
If you decide you want an awesome pie and want to find Veyo Pies, you can't miss it... Veyo is located about 15 to 20 miles Northwest of St. George on SR 18 on the left hand side... They have a huge red sign out front that you can't miss... If you miss it, then there may be a problem...

The Dogfather- Washington Utah
The Dogfather

I ordered the Polish Dog with sauerkraut (pictured above by JJ) and they offer Coke products... The Dogfather calls this The Don... I had no problem with my choice... What I enjoyed is that there was a good balance with the kraut and the Polish Sausage... My grandson had a plain hotdog, chips and a drink... I asked JJ what he thought about it and with his mouth full he gave me the thumbs up... My daughter also had a plain hotdog... She is on the Atkins diet, and this was a perfect choice for her... I think what I liked the most is that the owner of The Dogfather Joe sat down with us and it was like making a new friend... He is very a personable and friendly guy... I think I may have to adopt the owners, lol... There is something special about The Dogfather and this location... It's hard to put my finger on it... Maybe it's passion for the business or for his customers... I love his sense of humor as well... Gotta love this picture of his gangster...
Joe planted the Dogfather Hotdog cart in front of The Home Depot. April 1st they opened their second location in front of The Home Depot in Provo. It is doing wonderfully and they are so pleased to have an offering that reaches our considerable customer fan base that used to visit the restaurant. They have further expansion plans and invitations for at least 9 additional locations in Northern Utah, but they are evaluating the viability and opting for deliberate methodical growth.

Overall Experience: We loved it... This is casual dining at its best... You can go to Home Depot and pick up what you need and order what you're hungry for... It's simplistic yet awesome... Can't go wrong here... And Joe was great... I love it when the owner comes and visits and sits down with you like you are old friends... I don't know any other place like this...

My name is Sandie Divan and I am the owner of Southern Utah Food Reviews... This review is being done by two new reviewers that have joined the team in helping to bring an honest perspective to restaurants in Southern Utah. Thank you Lynn and Jessie for providing this review for us...

Dickey's BBQ is open on Sunday and kids eat for FREE with each paying adult, which is a no-brainier for me. Dickey's is open daily from 11:00 am-9:00 pm, and has a drive through for added convenience. On top of all that, Dickey's services include catering with very reasonable prices. St. George is lucky to have a restaurant that really thinks about its patrons by providing quality food choices, a clean and friendly environment and reasonable prices.

After we were completely satisfied and stuffed from out delicious food, we helped ourselves to free ice cream. Bridgette and I filled our cups with root beer and vanilla ice cream, which, according to the staff, happens all the time!
I know I will be back to Dickey's again for thier fantastic food and outstanding customer service.

In Closing: This is Sandie Divan adding to this... This restaurant is very clean and friendly. It's easy to get in and out of... They offer Coke products and have daily lunch specials. The portions are generous and the employees are very friendly and helpful... The management team is awesome and they are there to take care of you. I am going to post the flyer for their daily specials on here... You can also join Southern Utah Food Reviews Facebook... Specials will be posted there....
Price: Reasonable
Atmopsphere: Casual and Family Oriented
Cleanliness: Very clean
Other: Like I said they serve Coke... I'm not a Coke person, but there are other options available.... Even the police officers go there to eat... So how can you go wrong... I love that they offer free ice cream, pickles and that the employees make it an enjoyable experience... There are many options available, you can dine in, carry out, drive through, cater and I am sure there may be other things... They seem willing to please and go out of their way for your business...

My friend Nellie and I decided to go give American Grill a whirl... I was told by a friend that they were way good and had to give it a try....
When you try to find American Grill, you are going to look got Lightfoots Service Station and Carwash.... They are in the same building, but don't be deceived... Hidden treasures are to be found in this All American Grill... Look at this image and you will see that they are located beyond Lava Flow Rd just down the street from the Sand Hallow Pool in Santa Clara... Not the lake...
All American Grill is decorated with images that would make any American proud. They don't hide that they are Americans... The food is prepared fresh as you order the food... What I like is that the fries are made from whole potatoes and not from a bag... We were greeted with a smile when our cashier/server waited for us to come up to her. She was outgoing and friendly...
Nellie ordered the Pastrami Burger along with the fresh cut fries... She was pleased with how the buns was toasted and every ingredient worked well together... There were no over powering flavors, just a happy mouth saying feed me more... There was so much food that she had to take a to go box... For her drink she ordered coffee... There was no complaints about the lunch...
I only had a strawberry cheesecake shake and a coffee... I was thinking about that funny combination and how off the wall that was.... But it worked for me... Overall, we were very happy with our lunch... The place is very convenient too... You can fill up your car and your tummy all at the same time... How can ya go wrong with that?
Overall Experience:
Atmosphere: I love it when people have no problem showing they have pride in being an American...
Price: Very reasonable... I think they also offer daily specials... You can eat here cheaper than McDonalds I would think...
Cleanliness: It was very clean and open...
I don't think you can go wrong by eating here... Give it a try... It may be your next most favorite place to go...
